Chapter 2 and Chapter 3

In  chapter 2 Murray touched on the fact its very crucial to meet the deadline of a story. I know in class we have deadlines but in a real newsroom its a whole different atmosphere. Murray says, "They must be met or I will face professional death." This line really struck out to me because in the Journalism world you have to meet your deadlines and there are usually about 3hrs or maybe 45mins. Murray made me think how I should really focus on meeting deadlines now. His breaks down in this chapter is very useful and good tips to follow.
In chapter 3 Murray speaks on exploring for stories. Exploring for details to get great story ideas. He breaks down these ten senses, that I never really thought about when writing. Applying all these sense will make you come out with a great story, with in depth detail.
All over the news it speaks on the government shutting down, but in the globe there is an article, "Amid shutdown, an uncertain road ahead" with the refusal of signing the bill for Obama care the government shuts down. The last time the U.S had a shut down was in  1996 with Bill Clinton. I don't know much about politics, but it seems like this shut down will affect many people. Also with this shut down they have closed down the Lincoln Memorial. What else is the government going to shut down?
