Chapter one

I really enjoyed Donald Murray's Writing to Deadline. My favorite line had to be, "I was a listener, a watcher, a spy, a sneak." In a sense this is key to good journalism. I chapter one Murray explains it's not just all writing skills, good journalism is also your ability to listen. It's about keeping and eye and ear out on a good story and listening to those around you. Good journalism and reporters jump right into the action and I feel he explained that really well here.
